December Monthly Reading Journal Setup & What I Read in November

November has been a GREAT month for reading - and I’m hoping December will be too! Let’s make a cosy-but-minimal December Reading Journal theme together, and have a little chat about the books I’ve read so far in November too.

Watch the video below to hang out and set this up together, or scroll on for the photos-and-text version. There are links at the bottom of this post to everything I used to set this up, too!

Cover Page & Reading Stats Page

Even though December falls in summer in Australia, I couldn’t resist the Fireside PET tape from the Washi Tape Shop. Its vibes are so cosy and calming, which is exactly how I’d like my December to go! I chose the rest of my supplies around this PET tape, so we’ve ended up with a soft, warm colour palette with pops of gold - I kind of love that it matches my bullet journal theme a little!

The reading stats page is the same as November’s - I’m finding writing out genre and format lists is much easier than pie charts. As great as they look, I’m just not a pie chart girl!

Maybe Next (TBR) and December Reads Pages

I like having a Maybe Next page (not To Be Read - that’s too much pressure) so that when I finish a book and need to start thinking about what my next one will be, I can refer to this page for ideas! I also like to look up all those titles on my library apps to see if I can borrow them on audiobook. Sometimes if it’s a popular title there might be a few weeks’ wait, so I like to put them on hold early to hopefully have my turn come during the month I’d hoped to read them! If you’re an avid reader but you aren’t using your local library, I highly recommend you sign up for at least a digital membership and make use of their audiobooks! It’s been saving me SO much money, and authors still receive royalties for library borrows of their books!

Book Club Spread

For once, I’m fairly certain that my theme decor will match the Literary Ladies book club pick for December - we’re definitely choosing a Christmas book! In fact, December will mark our first anniversary - my book club started with a Christmas read last year, just for fun, and now look at us! We’ve recruited friends and read so many wonderful books! I’m so grateful to have this book club - the other members choose such incredible stories that I’d never think to read myself! Even if we don’t always enjoy each others choices, I always have a great time discussing the books!

What I Read In November

November has been a great month for reading so far - and it’s not over yet! It’s been the first month of my channel members book club, reading Hunger Pangs by Joy Demorra. Iron Flame has just been released - although I haven’t started it yet - and I’ve read two audiobooks I loved… and one I thought was just fine. I’m feeling the urge to start on Christmas books, so even though I’ve listed several on my December Maybe Next page… I might just dive into those a little early!
