December 2022 Gingerbread Christmas Bujo Theme

Ah December - a time of hot and sweaty days here in Australia, but we deck the halls with boughs of holly anyway! If there’s a time for maximalism, it’s Christmas. That goes for my bullet journal too! My theme this year is gingerbread, making great use of a brown paint pen and my brand new Cricut Explore 3* to give the ultimate gingerbread effect with almost no effort. Watch the video above to see how I did it, or scroll down for the finished project. You can also get my Cricut Design Space project file here in case you’d like to make something similar!

Cover & Quote Spread

Using a combo of gold, silver, red and white Cricut Permanent Vinyl, I’ve assembled my cover and quote pages - plus some extra Christmas spice from the Washi Tape Shop’s seasonal sticker offerings.

Calendar Spread

For those who don’t have a Cricut to hack the gingerbread look, never fear - you can use a white paint pen or gel pen instead of vinyl! I’ve turned my December calendar into a big gingerbread house, and I think it’s so adorable!

Goals, Musings, Currently Page and Habit Tracker Page

My goals, musings and currently page is also adorned with gingerbread this month, as tiny little houses. I’ll add my aims, thoughts and favourites to the boxes as the month progresses. The habit tracker is much the same as always with my thermal printed calendars - scroll to the bottom of the post if you’d like the calendar link so you can print it too! All my headings were done with Cricut vinyl throughout this whole theme.

Content Planner Spread

I’ve got a big holiday coming up, and I’m trying to pre-schedule as much content as I can before I leave so my content planner spread is an important one this month! It helps me work out which Youtube videos and blog posts should go on which weeks, and distribute my Instagram content around them. I use Later to schedule my IG posts - it’s possible to schedule reels if you’re using your own music, but not if you want to use music from within Instagram, so I save them as drafts within the IG app and schedule the cover photo and caption within Later. When it’s time to post, I get a notification to my phone. Easy!

Spending Log & Mood Tracker

I need a lot of space for data on my spending tracker, so sometimes it’s tricky working out how to make it fit the theme without taking up too much page space with decoration. I’ve turned it into a big biscuit this month!

The mood tracker is a fun one - I’ve got 31 little gingerbread men to add details to each day according to my mood!

Weekly Spread

I’ll be honest, this isn’t my favourite weekly ever - but it will still serve its purpose! I’ve used stickers from the Washi Tape Shop’s holiday washi tape sticker collections to line the top and bottom of the spread, leaving space in between for planning for each day.
