SHEIN Bullet Journal Stationery Haul: Stickers & Washi Tape

If you’ve heard of Shein, you probably associate them with clothing, but did you know they sell stationery too? I can’t believe how many items I got for just over AU$50! That’s around US$35 right now! For the most part, I’m pretty happy with my haul - I got 19 items, from stickers to washi tape and papers, which should keep me going for a LONG time to come!

This post and accompanying video are not sponsored - I bought all this stuff with my own dollars, purely by choice. Click the titles of the items to see them on the Shein website.

Random items - the stationery lucky dip

When Shein’s item description says “random”, it means they’ll choose one of their options or colour ways in a particular item for you. You don’t get to pick the exact design you end up with. I actually kind of love that - it’s like a stationery lucky dip or lottery. I’ve ended up with some very cool things I probably wouldn’t have chosen for myself, and I’m excited to take on the challenge of using them in my journal!

1roll Random Vintage Stamp Sticker - AU$2.95 each

Are they stickers? Are they a roll of washi tape? They’re both! These stamp stickers have perforated edges so you can tear them off for a single stamp, or place several of them in a longer strip. They aren’t the most wonderfully sticky washi, so you might need to help them out with a bit of glue tape - I find once they peel off the roll, they don’t really want to stick to anything on their own anymore.

I ordered two of these rolls and they are both lovely vintage tones and delicate designs. They’ll work well together, as well as with other items I purchased, but also look quite different to each other.

1roll Random Pattern Washi Tape - $2.95

Another random option - this super holographic butterfly-print clear washi tape came from a collection of laser-like holo washi options. It’s the kind of decorative tape that comes on a separate backing strip, which makes it a little trickier to use than a tape that just sticks to itself on the roll, but since it’s so delicate - it’s made from a very thin clear plastic - that makes perfect sense.

I gave this tape to a friend, so you won’t be seeing it my journal in the future.

45pcs Mixed Pattern DIY Sticker - $1.95

I’m in two minds about these stickers. I love that they’re circular, I love the colour options and I think they’ll be pretty versatile - but when I look at them I just see Canva. I’ve seen (and used) very similar illustrations to these in Canva’s library!
Some of these stickers are a little messed up - a bit folded and squished - which I don’t love, but for the price tag it’s really not a big deal.

10rolls Simple Tape in colour way E - $2.95

10rolls Simple Tape in colour way E - $2.95

What’s not to love about a collection of pastel washis? This set comes with eight solid coloured thin washi tapes and two subtly-patterned white-based washi tapes. All of them are great quality and stick really well to the page. I can see myself using these a lot! In fact, I used them quite a bit in my March 2022 set up - check out the blog post here if you’d like to see them in action!

46sheets Random Sticker - $1.95

Fluffy clouds, blazing sunsets and sparkly water - what’s not to love? This set of stickers is one of my favourites from this haul for its sheer versatility. These vibrant stickers aren’t made of the washi material, but more of a traditional paper sticker with a shiny surface. They’re still thin enough not to interfere with the way your paper behaves, but also sturdy enough that they don’t curl up when you remove the backing.

46pcs Mixed Pattern Sticker - $1.95

I LOVE these stickers! I’ve recently decided I don’t love using watercolour in my journal, and these watercolour-look stickers mean I can still get the beautiful effect without having to do it myself! The designs range from ocean creatures to crystals, planets, musical instruments and doorways.

1box Vintage Plant Sticker - $1.95

I’m set for stationery that resembles stamps for life! These cute stickers, much like the washi rolls at the top of this post, feature antique neutral tones and scalloped edges to give the impression of postage stamps. They also feature some adorable illustrations ranging from mushrooms to bunnies, deer and florals.

50pcs Mixed Pattern Sticker - $1.95

I was so disappointed with these stickers when I first opened them up. I thought they would actually be holographic - and they certainly give that impression in photos - but they’re not. They’re actually rainbow printed to resemble holographic paper.

On second look, I actually really like some of these, and will likely end up using some, but a few of them are a bit odd!

40pcs Floral Pattern Sticker - $1.95

If you’re keen on a clear floral sticker, but the idea of a random selection doesn’t fill you with joy, this option is a little safer - and a dollar cheaper. This set contains a mix of colours, though they do lean largely warm toned, and the stickers are a little bigger than the last ones in this post.

Plain Pencil Bag - $8.95

The search is over! I’ve finally found a pencil case I love! This cutie is an expandable pen bag that fits way more than it would first seem to, including Tombow dual brush pens - the long bois of bullet journaling. My colour choice is currently sold out, but it’s available in navy blue at the same link, or pink on a separate listing (and for an additional $2 - apparently pink is more expensive). I can’t wait to take this out for my next out-of-office bullet journaling adventure!

40pcs Plants Pattern Random Sticker - $2.95

It’s no secret that I love a floral moment in my journal, and it’s also no secret that I love pink - so I really lucked out with this random sticker set! A combination of photorealistic and painted florals, this set has a range of sizes and patterns. I can see these making for a lovely valentines day or anniversary theme, or just a decadent floral moment at any time.

40pcs Vintage Pattern Random Sticker - $1.95

It’s only February but I hear Halloween calling! These gorgeous strip-style washi stickers feature moon phases, things that look like birth charts and all sorts of other cool archeological looking stuff that I don’t understand - and I love them! I think this shape sticker will be really versatile!

1pc Landscape Print Random Sticker - $1.95

I thought these were card stock until making this blog post - I even glued one down in book with its backing on! Yes, they are washi stickers! They just FEEL like paper! This collection of portrait-oriented Japanese landscapes is so enchanting - I think I was pretty lucky to get the blue version, since so many of my recent stationery acquisitions have also been blue!

100sheets Slogan Graphic Random Material Paper - No longer available

I’m so disappointed that this item isn’t available on the store anymore, since it might be one of my favourites from this haul! This tiny book contains dictionary definitions for a range of words. Another random item, I got a series of words beginning with N, O and P. What a fun and unique way to add a typewriter style text element to your pages! A few of the words are a little inappropriate, and some are just weird to consider including in your book so buyer beware, but I think the volume of decent ones outweighs the wasted few.

100pcs Mixed Pattern Random Material Paper - $3.95

Where have these been all my life? I love adding paper to my journal, but most of the craft paper out there is thicker card-stock and I don’t like how it sits with the pages of my journal. This paper pack features nice thin paper and a range of gorgeous brown-toned designs that make me want to travel through Europe in the 1930s.

100pcs Mixed Pattern Sticker - $3.95

This is a seriously versatile sticker pack! A variety of colours, a bunch of different images and vibes and feelings - I can see myself getting a lot of use out of these.

30pcs Floral Pattern Random Sticker - $1.95

The photography nerd in me HAD to have these film negative style stickers, and I have no regrets. Similar to the clear floral stickers, these ones are printed on clear plastic that’s quite thin and transparent, meaning anything you layer them over will peek through. They all feature styled florals in dramatic light, and I love that they have a little more contrast than you can get on a washi sticker.

The Verdict on Shein stationery

While I won’t be running back to Shein for clothing anytime soon, their stationery offerings are hard to beat - super affordable, diverse and for the most-part, good quality. I can see why so many people prefer them for their bullet journal goodies!
