November Reading Journal Spreads & What I Read in October

Monthly reading journal setups are my new obsession. Tracking stats like pages read and format, setting some “TBR” intentions and making a dedicated space for my book club reads has been so exciting so far - and I’m loving this slightly magical November setup!

Watch it come together in the video below, or scroll down for photos of each page and links to all the items I used to make this theme.

Cover Page & Reading Stats Page

The cover page is just a self-indulgent way to introduce the month and theme, and have fun playing with stationery. Almost everything I’m using in this setup came from a store called EasyCraftArt!

The reading stats page stays empty until the end of the month. Then I use a wonderful app called StoryGraph - which I use to track my reading day to day - to get all the statistics to fill this out!

Maybe Next (or To Be Read) Page

It’s no secret that I don’t love the term “To Be Read” or “TBR” - it makes choosing a new book to read feel like a task on a to-do list. Reading is a fun hobby for me, so I prefer to call this page “maybe next” instead - it feels like less pressure! The facing page has the same setup, but it’s for any books I read in November that I didn’t necessarily plan on reading.

Book Club Spread

I’ve been loving being part of a book club the past year! A group of friends and I meet approximately monthly to discuss our latest read over dinner or lunch or coffee, then choose our next month’s book and do it all again. We call ourselves the Literary Ladies, which is why this page has the same title! We haven’t chosen our November book yet, so at the time I’m setting this up I’m leaving a space for a large print of the book cover, once we know what it is.

Book Review Pages

I like making detailed, arty pages or spreads for my book reviews sometimes - but not always! If I didn’t love a book, or I’m worried about conserving pages (which I am, a little - I want to fit the rest of 2023 in this journal) or I just don’t feel like I have the right stationery (or the time and energy) I’ll set up a very basic review page like these ones instead. It works well for me!
