3 Easy Halloween Bullet Journal Theme Ideas
As much as I love Halloween, I’m not really a fan of buying seasonal stationery. You get to use it for, what, one month? One theme? A special feature spread? Then you pack it away for a whole year, and possibly don’t even want to use it again the next year because there’s NEW Halloween stationery to buy, or you don’t want to do the same thing as last year?
My solution is to stick to my old faithful - pen-only themes. You likely already have some marker colours that would work, so here are three easy bullet journal layouts to try for spooky season - no washi, stickers or specialty papers necessary. Hallow-Doodle Doo
Think you can’t draw? Think again! This doodle-heavy layout is actually super easy. Pick and choose your favourite doodles, then use stars, moons and leafy vines to fill in the gaps. It’s adorable and easy to sprinkle throughout your pages to keep the theme going!
The Haunted Mansion
A house is just a bunch of shapes when you break it down - and dot grid pages make it easy to keep a design symmetrical! Start from the middle of the page by drawing the front door, then build the rest of the house around it. A silver paint pen makes the perfect moon background on the horizon, and the branches of the old gnarled trees make for a super speedy page decoration to carry over onto your spreads.
Pumpkin Spice Fall Wreath
Less keen on screaming “Halloween" but still want to celebrate the season? This pumpkin, mushroom and leaf wreath has you covered. Time to break out every orange and yellow shade of markers you own - I used a grey one too! The trick is to try not to use the same colour on two consecutive leaves. Strategically place some pumpkins, leaves, mushrooms and branches around the rest of your layout to bring the autumn vibes with you - even if you’re actually living in spring, like me!
