2021 New Bullet Journal Spreads
Let’s party (and plan) like it’s 2021!
I oscillate between minimal, easy journal setups and more labour-intensive months. Usually I go “all out” for my initial setup at the beginning of the year - detailed florals, curated colour palettes - but 2020 left me feeling pretty tired, and I wanted something simple, easy, and accessible to anyone just starting out on their bullet journal journey.
A Minimalist 2021 Bullet Journal
In comes this sweet starry set up! Inspired by fireworks and new-year celebrations, in a fresh and crisp Notebook Therapy Pastel Edition Tsuki journal, this colourful moment will still feel fresh each time I refer back over the coming year.
In this layout:
2021 cover page - every new year deserves it’s own cover page! Setting this up is a kind of meditation for me - as I’m putting this together I’m thinking about my goals for the year ahead.
Social media tracker - I have many accounts on the go for a few different entrepreneurial pursuits, so I like to track how they’re all going through the year. Some get more attention than others!
Goals page - a MUST for any fresh notebook! It’s OK if goals change with time - but without them, you have nothing to work towards.
Savings tracker - on the last day of each month I like to do a little financial stocktake. I check how much is in my accounts and hopefully it has grown since the previous month - writing it down keeps it in the front of my mind. Don’t forget to leave a space for your opening balances if you plan to make a similar spread - you have to know where you started to see how far you’ve come!
Expenses tracker - This is one involved spread! Every month I make a dedicated expense tracker, and at the each of each month I tally it all up by category, then flip back to this page and fill it all in. At the end of the year I can see where ALL my money went. I also added a small income tracker on this page, since I have a few different income streams, so I can see where my money came from too.
Reading log - my reading tracker is very chill compared to some. I tend to forget the titles and authors of books if I don’t have a record - this way I can look back and remember them! I don’t rate them, but I will star the ones I loved the most. I don’t set a reading goal - I just like to see what the total number is at the end of the year.
Grid spacing guide - if I’m being honest, I don’t use this page much - but I do flip back to it when I can’t remember how many spaces to the centre of the page or similar!
Contents page - this was added as an afterthought - it probably should have been sooner in the book! I don’t use it much right now besides adding on my new chapters as they come, but I imagine I might use these in the future if I’m looking for something specific in an old journal.
Keen on this layout but don’t know where to start?
